BRENDA’S NON-FICTION REVIEW
Mr. Monk and Philosophy edited by D.E. Wittkower
This book came as such a surprise to me. Monk is my favorite television show and I have read fiction books based on Monk, but I had no idea there was a nonfiction book that examines themes of the Monk show. As it turns out- this book is Volume 46 in the series, Popular Culture and Philosophy edited by George A. Reisch. On television Monk is a detective and in addition to crime solving, he has a number of personal issues to deal with as well. Reading this book highlighted the entertainment value of the show as well as deeper meanings associated with the characters.
